Chi-Hi's "West Side Story" 02/20/2006

The Chi-Hi Thespians and musicians performed the musical "West Side Story" (more details) at the high school in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, February 24-26, 2006. I was asked to take photos of the dress rehearsal, which I put here on the CFMA web site for your viewing pleasure. It's a real treat to see so many GUYS in a musical like this...in one scene of the two rival gangs, I counted SIXTEEN (16) strong male performers all singing and dancing at a high skill and energy level. Kudos to all those involved!

There are almost 300 photos here -- if it's downloading too slowly for you, you can jump right to the beginning of these sections if you want:

[set construction] [orchestra] [props, sound, etc.] [leads] [SHOW]

(See also the collage souvenir photo)

(Production notes: I took all these with my new FZ30 camera, which is a new replacement for my damaged FZ20. This show must have had darker lighting than past shows, since I wasn't able to get many shots without a flash. Fortunately I brought my external flash and got good results from that. As usual, be sure to click through the small and the medium to get the high-res shots if you want to make a color print. The camera goes to 8MP, but most of these are at 3MP just to save disk space...should still make great prints, though.)

Enjoy,
